Meet Jeananne Nicholls!
Jeananne, known by “Nan” to just about everyone, is the Vice President of Collegiate Relations and a board member of AMA Pittsburgh.
A full-time Professor of Marketing at Slippery Rock University (SRU), Nan is in her eighth year of teaching undergraduate and graduate marketing and management courses. In addition to her teaching profession, she’s been an AMA member for 10 years and took on her current volunteer role with the Pittsburgh chapter two years ago.
As our VP of Collegiate Relations, Nan is an advisor for SRU’s collegiate chapter of AMA and also leads our Collegiate Relations committee. Nan, alongside her committee, works with college faculty advisers as well as other marketing professors within the tri-state region to develop educational programs such as collegiate marketing case studies and other opportunities to develop students’ marketing knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs), and build their professional network.
Her passion truly lies in helping students develop their marketing skills, expand their professional networks and preparing for transitioning into professional careers – both through her teaching profession and her volunteer work with AMA Pittsburgh.
Three words to describe Nan are:
The best advice she ever received is a quote, which states:
“Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference.”
Nan’s collegiate efforts for AMA Pittsburgh ultimately help provide students with the educational experience they need to broaden their marketing knowledge base. They are given the opportunity to network with professionals in their industry and develop skills that can set them apart as marketing professionals upon their graduation.
